Autocad 2007 Windows Vista Compatible![]() Hi, Historically, all Autodesk versions have run on the MS O/Ss which were current at the time of their development and Autodesk have advised that their software in warranted to run on the various O/Ss they test on. There is no way Autodesk can write software to work on unreleased O/Ss AND guarantee it. On the other hand, in general, their older software versions tend to work on the new O/S, simply because MS need to provide at least some level of backward compatibility in new O/Ss. -- Laurie Comerford CADApps www.cadapps.com.au wrote in message news:[email protected]. Does any of you know if there is some official documentation avaiable on which AutoCad products are supported on the Windows Vista platform? Will this only be 2007, or also legacies such as 2005 or earlier? I can remember there were some 'difficulties'in this when Windows XP came out half a decade ago. Thanks for any feedback! And by then we all will be in anticipation of R2008:) -- Dean Saadallah Add-on products for LT. Our annual release schedule for AutoCAD isn't changing anytime soon and we will have to plan an appropriate support plan for when Vista is ultimately released. Odds are that it will not sync up with our schedule and we'll have to determine whether to service pack the shipping release and/or wait to fully support it with our upcoming version. Again it depends on how close/far Microsoft is from our annual release each Spring. All that said, we are excited about some of the technology begin proposed in Vista and are actively looking at integration points within AutoCAD (where it makes sense.) Stay tuned (as we are.) Just curious (marketing guys are always curious) - are you going to adopt Vista out of the gate as an early adopter, or would you wait a few months? -Eric Eric Stover AutoCAD Product Manager Autodesk, inc.
